Countdown | 100 Days

Only 100 days to go until I can cross that finish line!! That sentence both excites me and terrifies me.

I know words won’t even be able to describe the feeling of finishing my first full marathon, but on the other hand…I still have to run the whole damn thing! Plus, I feel like I was just tweeting about the 150 day countdown yesterday. Boy did those 50 days flyyy by.

The good news is that my training is in full swing, the bad news is that so is the winter weather. Thanks to the #BombCyclone2018, Boston is completely covered in snow, ice, and slush. I’m from Syracuse, but daaaaaamn this is a lot. I mean, we’re talking snowpiles that are taller than me!

Now, running outside requires a full winter suit – multiple layers, hat, scarf, gloves, you name it. These low temps and high winds are killer…and wind burn really, really sucks. I’m definitely struggling, but I’m pushing through!

This weather makes the runs feel more rewarding somehow. I get home and I think to myself, “did I really just do that?” or “Am I really that crazy?”

Yes and yes.

But at the end of the day, how cool is it that I’ll get to cross something off my bucket list in 100 days? Plus, I’m doing it all for a cause that is near and dear to my heart – the ALS Association ❤
