I was pretty snap-happy for Week 8 so enjoy all the pics that come with today’s update! I took it easy towards the beginning of the week and spent my time rolling out and watching The Bachelor Winter Games (and the real Winter Games of course).
I set out for my first run on Wednesday night, which this week just happened to be the day of loooove. I convinced my bf to go with me for a quick Valentine’s Day 5-miler and I have to say it was one of my best runs. I even got a few sprints in and held a pretty steady pace for the whole thing. Maybe it was the excitement of getting out on the streets again, or maybe I just really wanted to impress my speedy guy. We opted out of going to dinner that night and just chilled at home – best decision everrrr.
I had to go for another run on Thursday night because Boston was having a heat wave. 50 degrees in the middle of February, it was insane! I had no hat, no gloves, and I only had to wear one pair of leggings! (#blessed) I think it’s supposed to get into the 60s next week which is even crazier. New England is starting to feel like the unpredictable Syracuse four-seasons-in-one-day weather more and more…
Had a rest day on Friday and then made a trip to the Boston Marathon adidas Runbase store on Saturday to get some new digs. I splurged on the 2018 Boston Marathon jacket and then had a little photoshoot at the Charles River Esplanade to show it off. (I’ll be posting those soon!). I also had a chance to break in my new Nike training shoes – the Zoom Pegasus 34s ❤ I’ve had this model for years and it is my all-time favorite sneaker so I was super excited to get my hands on a new pair.
Finished off the week with a 10-miler through Cambridge and the Back Bay. Temps in the 40s and it was a little windy by the water, but the sun was shining so I didn’t mind. Hopefully that means Spring is right around the corner? A girl can dream.
Put in 20 miles this week and plan to bump it up to about 33 next week since my knees are feeling goooood. Excited to push through these last couple months of training!
